2013 North Charleston Open at Wescott Plantation

The Golf Club at Wescott Plantation will host the 2013 North Charleston Open on September 7-8.  The tournament is open to all players, amateur and professionals.

The North Charleston Open proudly supports The First Tee, a youth development program that uses the game of golf as an outlet to encourage life skills.

Fundraiser to support World Series bound North Charleston baseball teams, July 28 11am-1pm

To support North Charleston’s World Series bound Pre-Majors and Dixie Majors baseball teams, a luncheon fundraiser will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Felix C. Davis Community Center.  All lunch proceeds will assist the teams in travel expenses to their respective tournaments.

$5 gets you a choice of hamburger, hot dog, or chicken sandwich, along with chips and a drink.

The Dixie Majors World Series Tournament will be played at Eagle Stadium in Ozark, Alabama.  Games begin on Saturday, July 30, 2011.  North Charleston Pre-Majors, ages 17-18, will take on the Tennessee State Champions.  Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.

The Dixie Pre-Majors World Series Tournament will be played at Independence Recreation Park in Independence, Louisiana.  Games begin on Saturday, July 30, 2011.  North Charleston Dixie Majors, ages 15-16, will take on the Florida State Champions. Game time is scheduled for 10:00 am.

Each double elimination tournament consists of the eleven 2011 State Champions throughout the Southeast and one team from each respective host city.

Dixie Youth AA Machine Pitch Region II Tournament

The City of North Charleston will host the 2010 Dixie Youth AA Region 2 Machine Pitch Tournament at Park Circle from Friday, July 23 - Tuesday, July 27.

This tournament brings athletes from throughout the Southeast all vying for the regional title. The Northwoods and Pepperhill communities, some of the finest young ball players in the State of South Carolina, will represent North Charleston.

Participating teams include: Alabama champion, Alabama runner-up, Florida champion, Florida runner-up, Georgia champion, Georgia runner-up, South Carolina champion, South Carolina runner-up, South Carolina 3rd, South Carolina 4th, Northwoods, and Pepperhill.

Admission prices are as follows:

Adults (Day 1) - $7.00*

Adults (Days 2-4) - $6.00

Students (Day 1) - $4.00*

Students (Days 2-4) - $3.00

Children under 6 - free

*The increased admission cost on day 1 will benefit the Dixie Scholarship Program.

2009 Dixie Majors World Series

We are pleased to host the 2009 Dixie Majors World Series July 25-30 at Collins Park Complex and Charleston Southern University. This tournament brings athletes from 11 southern states all vying for the World Series Championship title. The Collins Park All-Stars, some of the finest 17–19 year old players in the State of South Carolina, will represent North Charleston.

Daily admission passes are $7.00 at the gate. Opening ceremony will be held at the North Charleston Coliseum on July 24 at 6:30 pm. Opening Ceremony tickets are currently on sale for $15.00 (includes dinner) and are available at the North Charleston Recreation Department at Park Circle, non-dining tickets are available for $8.00. Stuart Lake, Charleston Southern University Baseball Head Coach is our guest speaker.
